A top rated event held in Fort Fisher on the Cape Fear River. Music lovers can revel in two days of great jazz and blues by nationally and regionally recognized musicians. Seafood lovers can sample delicious seafood from the best restaurants in the area. Featured events are the renowned Green Beret Sports Parachute Team and Michael's Seafood Restaurant Oyster Shucking Contest. For the kids we have a petting zoo, pony rides, magicians, jugglers, inflatable amusements and much more. There's plenty of shopping at booths hosted by crafters and local shop owners, a fine arts plaza and wine tasting.

Description:
On the last Saturday in April we kick off the festival with the "Day in The Park" activities which includes games, fireworks and a hog cooking contest. The admission is $1.00 to help cover the cost of fireworks. During the week we have a golf tournament, arts and crafts for viewing, and the Depot Museum is open to the public. We have a breakfast honoring the businesses in town, and on Friday of that week we have the Encounters. Then on the first Saturday in May we end our festival with a band concert, Dignitary Luncheon, Amateur arts and crafts, food vendors, parade, Scholarship Pageant and the Strawberry Dance.
