day(s)
Description:
The Starkville Area Arts Council would like to announce the annual Cotton District Arts Festival scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2004. The Festival is fully supported in parts by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission and by donations from corporate sponsors and individual contributors.
This year’s expanded activities include a 5K Run, a Pet Parade for all ages, a Juried Art Show, Flower Show, Medieval Village, Bulldog Art Auction, Architectural Tours, Artisan’s Village, and lots of continuous local musical and artistic entertainment. The event will be litter-free and the Festival will participate in the Starkville Recycling Program. Admission to the festival is free.
Many local artisans will be featured in individual booths where they will sell and demonstrate all kinds of original art forms. The fine arts and crafts offered will all be non-manufactured items, including pottery, stained glass, watercolors, and photography.
The popular “Taste of Starkville” presented by area restaurants will again be part of the festival attractions. The Taste of Starkville will feature local restaurants in Starkville illustrating why Starkville has such a unique blend of eating establishments. It will be a great opportunity for local flavors and talents to be discovered.
