From June 26th to July 4th, Victoria, BC is home to a nine-day celebration of culture and the arts. FolkFest, Victoria’s Multicultural Arts Festival, features over 1,500 performers on three stages; cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs on the World Feast Stage; an international food village; and three distinct craft markets.

The Mainstage offers a dizzying array of entertainment. During the day, local performers share musical and dance traditions from around the world. High-calibre local, national and international acts wow audiences each night.
At the Bayou Barge festival-goers over 19 years of age can enjoy live music, hot BBQ treats and the ever-popular beer garden.
A stone’s throw away, at the Centennial Square venue, visitors can enjoy Teatro Circo, a spectacle of astounding aerialists and acrobats, dazzling jugglers, hilarious buffoons, giant puppets and breathtaking traditional dance ensembles.

The ICA FolkFest is Victoria's premiere and longest running multicultural arts festival. With an annual attendance of over 150,000, the festival is the single largest outdoor event on Vancouver Island. Victoria's Multicultural Arts Festival is proudly presented by the Inter-Cultural Association (ICA) and produced by TNT Productions Inc. This popular festival returns this year to the Inner Harbour and Centennial Square from June 30th to July 9th.

The 33rd annual FolkFest will feature nine spectacular days of music, dance, food and theatre from around the world. Downtown Victoria will be filled with the sights and sounds of 1,500 performing artists, an international food village with over a dozen food kiosks offering flavours from around the world, a stage showcasing world-class chefs, a stage for acrobats and international dance performances, a craft market featuring more than 60 artisans and an ocean-front beer garden. Come for the swirling colours of a gypsy dance troupe, the thunder of Taiko drums, the insistent beckoning of a spicy curry, or the driving rhythms of electronic music created for today's globally oriented culture.

Will host the Annual 9th Juneteenth Celebration beginning June 16-18 2006.
Juneteenth is an important part of our heritage and a of celebration of freedom from slavery Juneteenth or June 19, 1865, is considered the dates when the last slaves in America were freed. Although the rumors of freedom were widespread the, actual emancipation did not come until General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas and issued General Order No. 3, on June 19, almost two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is celebrated annually, on June 19, in more than 200 cities in the United States. Texas and Oklahoma are the only states that have made Juneteenth a legal holiday. Some cities sponsor weeklong celebrations, culminating on June 19. The Hammond/Tangipahoa Parish Juneteenth Inc. has chosen a 3 day celebration .
